Dog Licensing

Dog Licensing

All dogs in the State of Maine must be licensed after 10 days of ownership or after the age of 6 months. To license your dog you will need a valid Maine Rabies Certificate and Neutering/Spaying Certificate, if appropriate.  If you are a resident of the Town of Lebanon you can obtain a dog license at the Town Hall or online (Under our Quick LInk Tab). Neutered dog licenses are $6.00 and non-neutered dog licenses are $11.00 each when obtained at the Town Hall.  There is an additional fee of $1.00 if licensed online.  Online dog license renewals can only be done from October 1 to January 31.   All dogs must wear their license tag at all times.  The wearing of the license tag will help to ensure that your dog will be returned if lost.

Dog licensing runs on a calendar year, expiring on December 31st of each year. You may renew your dog license anytime between October 15th and January 31st. You must renew your dog license no later than January 31st of each year, or a $25.00 late fee will be charged, plus registration fee. The late fee is a state imposed fee and no municipality has authorization to waive this fee.
