The Wedding was beautiful…Now What?
Now is the time to come back to the Lebanon Town Hall to apply for your Marriage Certificate!
A Marriage Certificate is different from a Marriage License. A Marriage License gives permission to marry; a Marriage Certificate is proof of that marriage. Once the Marriage License has been returned to the Town Hall, the marriage is registered with the State of Maine Department of Vital Records, and you are now able to purchase your Marriage Certificate. It’s easy as 1, 2, 3.
1. Fill out an application
2. Provide your ID
3. Decide how many copies you would like: $15 for the first copy, and $6 for each additional copy purchased at the same time.
If you are unable to come into the Town Hall in person, feel free to download and print a copy of the Marriage Certificate Application (remember this is different than the Marriage License application), and mail it to the Lebanon Town Hall along with a copy of your ID, a check for the appropriate amount, and a self-addressed-stamped envelope.
As always, any questions, feel free to call: 207-457-6082 ext. 103
