Conservation Commission Meeting

January 19, 2017

The meeting of the Conservation Commission was called to order by John Bozak at the Martha Sawyer Library at 6:30 p.m.  Those in attendance were: George Main, Ed Cheever, John and Sandy Hutchinson.

The Hebo Hybo properties were discussed.  It appears there are no deeds to some of the pieces that the town acquired by foreclosures.  Access to the properties is on a road that was discontinued in 1928, and to procure access, would require permission from some abutting landowners.  John will draft a letter to those property owners and present that to the Selectmen. (The total length of Hebo Hybo Road is 4.5 miles, with 1.9 miles in Lebanon).

The Budget request for the upcoming year is $650.00 to cover: printing, signage, guest speakers, etc.

To do list:  needed repairs to Gully Oven display board.

walk the Spaulding lots (39+/0) acres along the Piscataquis river.

2017 Upcoming events topic suggestions:

Arbor Day, April 28, –donating tree to town, George will look into this.

May 20, Lebanon Festival, - hands-on demo of invasive plants.

July 1-4, 250th Anniversary – fiddler for Gully Oven, Oley Bull Recording and documentary video.

October - sponsor freshman Lebanon student to attend Bryant Pond Trip.  John will discuss with teacher, Andrea Froburg.

The next meeting is February 16th.

Respectfully submitted, Sandy Hutchinson
