Town Clerk, puts Lebanon on map!
On Oct. 3, Gov. Baldacci honored Laura Bragg with the title of "dedimus justice," which means she now has authorization to give oaths and swear people into office. Bragg is only the second resident in Lebanon to have such a title. Later in the month, Bragg received two more honors. She reached her certification as a town clerk, which entailed taking several courses. Along with that Bragg was named "The Maine Town and City Clerk’s Association 2003 Rookie of the Year," an honor given only to one town clerk in the entire state of Maine.
Deputy Clerk Christine Libby secretly nominated Bragg last summer for her hard work, professionalism and dedication not only to the residents, but her commitment to the Lebanon youth sports programs as well.
Bragg has shown incredible leadership as our town clerk, especially during last year’s governmental crisis when the office was forced to close due to the failed budget. Bragg continued to work, without pay, to prepare for the special election so the town could resume its daily operations and serve the residents.
Unbeknownst to Bragg, she had another honor coming her way. State legislators also honored Bragg at last week’s public hearing for her dedication to our community. Sen. Richard Nass of Acton and state Rep. Jon Courtney of Springvale presented Bragg with a State Sentiment.
Bragg was very moved by the presentation and was quite humble about her recent awards.

Reminder
Fall is here and snow will soon be in the forecast. Be sure to clear any leaves from your snow blower and plowing paths to prevent hardships in the dead of Winter. Residents are responsible for the roads and drains in front of their house. Lebanon does not have a Public Works deprtment that does this. For new residents, plowing is provided for Lebanon by contractural services.
